Biggest Loser: BLT Burgers

This was delish! Although they should be called LT Burgers as I forgot to add in the Bacon (it was Turkey Bacon anyway, so I didn't miss it. Ha!)

Here's what the Book says:

4 strips of extra-lean turkey bacon, cut in half
1 pound 96% lean ground beef
4 whole grain/whole wheat hamburger buns (we used regular white ones)
1 cup chopped fresh spinach (didn't measure)
4 large tomato slices
4 tablespoons low-fat mayo

Preheat grill to high heat.
Add the bacon strips and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until crisp.
Divide beef in 4 equal portions and shape into balls, packing the tightly as you do. Press each patty that is about 1/2 " larger than the diameter of the buns.
Grill burgers for about 2 minutes on each side for medium rare, or until desired doneness (do not smash burgers) Place the bun halves, cut sides down, on the grill rack about 20 seconds (not directly over flame)
Place each toasted bun on a plate. Top with spinach, tomato, patties, then 2 pieces of back each. Spread 2 tablespoon of mayo evenly on each top bun, flip atop the patties and serve.

* My changes: no turkey bacon added and I added Fat-Free cheese. Sounds weird, but actually doesn't taste bad. Also, I added Avocado, so that's where the fat was replaced!

They were really easy, really good, and I'll definitely try again.
