Ingredients
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups quick or old fashioned oats
2 cups Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 cup coarsely chopped nuts (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 F
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat brown sugar, butter and sugar in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in eggs, milk and vanilla extract. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in oats, morsels and nuts; mix well. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto baking sheets (do not grease).
Bake for 9 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies or 12 to 13 minutes for crispy cookies. Cool on baking sheets for 1 minute; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Enjoy!
Leave it to me to ruin every single recipe on this blog...jk it wasn't that bad. I ended up getting about 32 cookies from this batch, so the first 18 that I put in came out really good and like that picture (well, not as good as the picture to be honest) and then the second 18, I didn't leave in the oven long enough. I was dumb because I freaked out and took them out and turned the oven off thinking I had overbaked them, but then I realized it had only been 8 minutes and not 18...dumb. Anyway, they were still delicious. It just amazes me how I just cannot get any new recipe to go smoothly...one day one day..haha OH and I used medium eggs, not LARGE eggs ...lol
ReplyDeleteI made this today with white chocolate chips= pretty good- they are a bit sweeter I think. The white chocolate chips just make it taste like I poured bits of condensed milk on regular oatmeal cookies--I like the choc chip better..I'm taking some of these white choc-oat to Cheryl today and see what she thinks
ReplyDeleteI liked the white chocolate chips, you're right, they did give them a richer, sweeter taste. However, I did miss the regular chocolate...I wonder what it would taste like if it was half white and half milk chocolate? You'd get the richness and the cocoa-y taste...just an idea for whoever feels adventurous.
ReplyDeleteIrene, when a recipe calls for LARGE eggs it's important to use LARGE eggs.
